Welcome to Careswell MLD

Reduce swelling, detox and promote wellbeing.

Welcome, my name is Lucinda and I’m qualified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage working from my treatment room in Fareham.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Fareham

After qualifying in Nutrition in 1998 at the Dr. Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College, I began treating clients who had many health conditions. I started to realise how important the Lymphatic system was to health and wellbeing. So many clients came to see me with low energy problems, bloating, swelling and low immunity. All of which can be directly linked to a sluggish or toxic build up within the lymphatic system

Due to this discovery I decided to train to be a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist. I did my training with MLD uk and trained in the Vodder method. I am qualified in levels 1, 2 and 3 and did the advanced training at the Vodder Clinic in Walchee Austria. I’m trained in MLD as well as Decongestive Therapy (DLT) .

I have 16 years experience of treating clients who have an impaired lymphatic system due to, hereditary factors, surgery, lymph node removal and other trauma to the lymph system.

I take NHS referrals as well as private clients.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to discuss anything or need further information.

I look forward to meeting you!

Kind regards,

Lucinda

What is the Lymphatic System

The Lymphatic System is part of the immune system. It keeps body fluid levels in balance and defends the body against infections. Lymphatic vessels, tissues, organs and glands work together to drain a watery fluid called lymph from throughout the body.

What Does the Lymphatic System Do?

One if the lymphatic systems jobs is to drain extra lymph from body tissues and return it to the blood. Lymph contains white blood cells called Lymphocytes and Chyle which is made from fats and proteins from the intestines.

What’s in the Lymphatic System?

Organs and tissues that are part of the Lymphatic System include:

  • Bone Marrow, the thick spongy kind of jelly inside bones that makes many kind of blood cells, including immune system cells.
  • Thymus Gland, which makes immune system cells called T cells.

Other organs with are part of the lymph system are:

  • Tonsils
  • Appendix
  • Lymph nodes

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

MLD is a type of physical therapy that stimulates the movement of the lymph fluid throughout the body. Gentle pumping, scooping, rotaries, stationary circles and long gentle strokes are used to assist the body in draining lymph fluid, facilitating the removal of excess fluid and toxins.

The Benefits of MLD:

Pauline

Lucinda has helped me massively, after having an operation many years ago I was left with lymphoedema which can really get you down, with the NHS not really giving you any or much support with this ongoing condition which we have to live with, my treatments are amazing ! with the help of drainage through a Vodder (Lucinda) which are so hard to find, I feel so much better, I have fluid build up in my neck, arm, back & stomach I would highly recommend this treatment for someone having issues regarding lymph build up. I feel like I have my life back.
